Hello, I am Bruce.
I am from “The Ugly Quacking Duck Podcast.” I enjoy anything that is not average, steeped with a little scifi and mysterious. The studio we work out of is setup in our home in the Midwest. However, occasionally I pack it all up and move it to a different location where I can do on spot interviews. I invited Lily to join me one day and she was a natural. Now I try to include her every chance we get. I also have Sunny a character I made up to help me on those podcasts where I am without a guest. I enjoy doing podcasts and connecting with the listeners very much!
How should we tell the tale of our name?
The ugly quacking duck seems to be a very strange name for a podcast, yet here we are. It actually originated with my original Amateur License. Another radio operator used non standard phonetics as Ugly Quacking Duck. That is not the standard phonetics, so it stuck in my head. Then when trying to come up with a unique name for my podcast, I was reminded of the phrase that ham had used on the radio so long ago. I quickly adopted it. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
Scifi_Rusure? project.
Once again we are working a new project. It is delving more into science fiction. It will be part ghost stories, part aliens and part other dimensional. There may be a bit of reality, you never know. Look for it. Above all leave a comment once you have heard it. Let us know what your thoughts are.
The Past for Tomorrow Project
Have you seen dominoes lined up in a row, in intricate patterns? You can find many such videos on YouTube. When triggered by a single falling domino the line and patterns are triggered. It is quite spellbinding to watch. As I watch these tip and hit the next domino, I envision my family and families all over the world. In days gone by families shared their experiences and knowledge with the next generation. As society has evolved, it has become busier and more fearful. Everyone is experiencing more separation. We have lost some of the connection with the past and some of the beauty of our forefathers’ experiences. The knowledge and experience of the past has evaporated. That is why I want to begin “The Past for Tomorrow Project”. With God’s help I hope to meet people and learn about their lives. I hope to get these meetings recorded so that they become a record that we can all share.
We may all recognize the treasures of God when we look around at the planets, the stars, the sun, and the moon. When we look at the mountains and flowers, we can admire the beauty and creativeness of God. However, seldom when we look at a human, a person, do we realize the true art work and hand of God. Our lives are God’s greatest testimony and yet we are not sharing it. I hope “The Past for Tomorrow Project” will be a way we can start to gather people’s history, experiences, knowledge and share them. We can bring out the hand of God.
